Nothing is certain but death. But dowdy flowers in a dull vase next to a pine coffin? Over our dead body! Visser & Meijwaard, Studio KnockOut and Linda Nieuwstad present a setting in which you do want to be found dead. For the departed, nothing but the best! Kassiewijle is a colourful alternative for the farewell. Because a last impression can be left only once.

The coffins are showing a new way of laying out a deceased. They are made up of three detachable parts; an undercarriage, a stretcher and a PVC cover. Zippers allow the shell to be opened and closed as necessary. With the zipper we got rid of the claustrophobic idea of getting nailed into your coffin. Once wrapped in a winding sheet, the corpse is laid out on the stretcher and covered with the PVC shell. The cover is removed before the final burial or cremation. This way the coffin will stay behind and therefor can be reused.
