Grey on Gray   / 2015

For the purposes of the “Transitions” project commissioned by Baars & Bloemhoff, Visser & Meijwaard elected to work with the solid surface material HI-MACS. The most important properties of this material are that it is thermally moldable and can be finished seamlessly. These characteristics we recognized in the design of industrially produced plastic crates. Attracted by the aesthetic potential of the crates construction, our design features an exoskeleton revealing the unintentional beauty of its technical details. The graphic lines on Grey on Gray create an architectural effect that is enhanced by the play of light and shadows.
